Litoria electrica (English trivial names : "Buzzing Treefrog", "Electric Treefrog") is a frog from the genus Litoria . It was discovered in 1987 by Ken Aplin near Floraville in Queensland and described for the first time in 1990. The type epithet electrica refers to his courtship call, which is reminiscent of the sound of a high-voltage arc .
features
Litoria electrica reaches a size of 35 to 38 millimeters. It has a yellow-brown back with three dark spots. These spots can sometimes be butterfly or V-shaped. The backs of the legs show black and yellow spots. His toes are connected by half a web of webbing. The webbing between the fingers is only slightly formed. The finger and toe pads are visible.
Occurrence and habitat
Litoria electrica inhabits a variety of habitats, including swamps and buildings. It is native to the central region and northwest Queensland.
