The Little Matterhorn (English for Little Matterhorn ) is a 1480 m high mountain in the shape of a volcanic cone on the island of Heard in the southern Indian Ocean . It rises 1.8 km north-northwest of Fremantle Peak on the north flank of Big Ben .
Participants in the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions carried out surveys and descriptive naming in 1948.
