Little wolf

Oh-cum-ga-che , better known as Little Wolf , sometimes also Red Bird (* around 1820 in the Black Hills , South Dakota , † 1904 in the Lame Deer Reservation , Montana ), was a chief of the Himoweyuhkis ( Crooked Lances or Elk Horn Scrapers ), a warrior society of Cheyenne - Indians .

Little Wolf was a signatory to the Fort Laramie Treaty (November 6, 1868). In 1873 he visited Washington DC

He fought in the Battle of Little Bighorn .

On November 24, 1876, Colonel Randall Slidell McKenzie placed the escaped reservation - Cheyenne under Little Wolf, Dull Knife and Yellow Nose at Crazy Woman Creek ( Wyoming ) , and on September 30, 1878 US troops defeated the Cheyenne under Little Wolf on Sappa Creek ( Kansas ).

Little Wolf had two wives, one of whom was named Starving Elk .
