Liu Ning

Liu Ning ( Chinese  刘宁 , Pinyin Liú Níng ; born January 1962 in Linjiang , Jilin Province ) is a Chinese politician and has been Governor of Qinghai since August 2018 .

Life

Liu was born in Linjiang, Jilin. He joined the Communist Party in 1990 and studied at Wuhan University of Hydraulics and Electrical Engineering (now part of Wuhan University ).

Liu spent much of his career in water resource management. He joined the Yangtze River Basin Planning Office and served as the head of the dam design department team. He later served as deputy director of the Qingjian Design Bureau , deputy director of the Design Center, director of Jiangyan technical department , deputy chief engineer and deputy director of the hub design department, and deputy chief engineer of the Yangtze River Water Resources Commission. In 2000, he was general manager of the Hubei Changjiang Bidding Co .

In 2001, Liu was appointed chief engineer of the planning and construction administration of the south-north water transfer project. He was also appointed general engineer of the Ministry of Water, later he was deputy minister.

In 2017, Liu was appointed deputy secretary of the Qinghai Communist Party and secretary of the Political and Legal Committee.

In 2018, Liu became governor of Qinghai.
