Liveris Andritsos ( Greek Λιβέρης Ανδρίτσος ; born December 31, 1959 in Athens ) is a former Greek basketball player and coach.
Career
Andritsos began his professional career in 1978 with Esperos Kallitheas where he was active for four years. In 1982 he moved to the traditional Greek club Panathinaikos Athens where, in addition to a championship, he was also able to win the national club cup twice. At the end of his career in 1991 he was Athens' most successful player in the history of A1 Ethniki with 2,088 points .
National team
Andritsos made his debut with the Greek national team on June 7, 1978 in a friendly against Albania. In the following 13 years Andritsos was an integral part of the Greek selection and took part in five European championships and one world championship. The greatest success during this period was the 1987 European Championship in front of a home crowd. In addition to players like Nikos Galis and Panagiotis Giannakis , he sensationally won the first gold medal for Greece in this competition. Another significant success in the same competition was 1989 when he won the silver medal. In 1979 he won the gold medal with Greece at the Mediterranean Championships. His last game was Andritsos on June 28, 1991 in a 110-83 victory over the Bulgarian selection.
