Livio Dante Porta (born March 21, 1922 in Rosario , † June 10, 2003 ) was an Argentine railway engineer . He is best known for innovative conversions of existing steam locomotives with the aim of higher performance, better efficiency and less pollution .

His most famous developments are his highly efficient blowpipe systems Lempor and Lemprex (based on the blowpipe by Jean Lemaître ) and Kylpor (based on the Kylchap ).
