Ljubica Jelušič

Ljubica Jelušič (born June 16, 1960 in Koper ) is a Slovenian politician ( Socialni Demokratie ). She was Slovenia's Minister of Defense from 2008 to 2012.

Ljubica Jelušič spent all of her school years in Sežana until she graduated from high school . She then studied at the Faculty of Sociology, Political Science and Journalism at the University of Ljubljana , where she completed her diploma thesis in 1985 on the subject of unarmed forms of resistance against aggression. In 1992 she completed her dissertation on the legitimacy of the military and worked at the Belgian Royal Military Academy from 1993-1994 , where she did research in the group of Philippe Manigart in the field of military sociology .

Since 2005 she has been a full professor in the field of national defense at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana .

She became Minister of Defense in the Borut Pahor government on November 21, 2008 , and remained in office until the end of her term in January 2012. She has been a member of the Slovenian Parliament since 2012 .
