Ljubomir Nenadović

Ljubomir P. Nenadović ( Serbian Љубомир Ненадовић; born September 14 . Jul / 26. September  1826 greg. In Brankovina , † January 21 jul. / 2. February  1895 greg. In Valjevo ) was a Serbian writer.

Life

Ljubomir Nenadović came from a family important to Serbian history, he was the son of the popular leader Matija Nenadović . Ljubomir studied philosophy in Prague , Berlin and Heidelberg and traveled to many countries in Western and Southern Europe. He became a professor at the Belgrade Lyceum. Several magazines were published by him, including Šumadinka from 1850 to 1857. He was also active as a diplomat and accompanied Petar II. Petrović-Njegoš as secretary in Italy.

Works

Nenadović wrote numerous didactic and moralizing poems. His greatest importance, however, lies in the writing of interesting travel reports from Germany , Switzerland , Italy and Montenegro , which are written with keen observation and humor and made him known. There are no German translations.
