Lyudmyla Bereznyzka

Lyudmyla Iwaniwna Beresnyzka ( Ukrainian Людмила Іванівна Березницька ; Bereznitsky, Ludmila; born November 22, 1957 in Kovel , Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian art historian. As an art historian and critic, she works actively on the connection between contemporary art from Eastern Europe, Asia and the modern age of the West. As a lecturer at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv for art history and theory and director of two galleries for contemporary art, as well as the president of the Eidos Foundation to support young artists in Ukraine, she has a comprehensive framework for cultural exchange created at international level.

Career

From 2003 to 2007 she was a lecturer in cultural policy at the Faculty of Art History and Theory, National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture , Ukraine.

In 1993 she did her dissertation Exchange as a Mechanism for Realizing Moral Relationships . In 1986 she was an aspirant at the faculty for ethics, aesthetics, theory of culture, specialization ethics. From 1977 to 1983 she studied at the Taras Shevchenko University of Kiev, Faculty of Philosophy, Diploma thesis: Problems of progress in art .

Ljudmyla Beresnyzka has been teaching history and world / national culture at the Kiev Linguistic Institute since 1996. In addition to teaching at the chair for "Theory and History of Art", she began organizing exhibitions on Ukrainian art in Kiev in the early 1990s and soon specialized in the works of young Ukrainian artists involved in the "New Wave" movement.

Bereznyzka (L-type)

In 1994, Ljudmyla Beresnyzka founded the L-art gallery, today's Beresnyzka gallery, in Kiev. Over the course of a decade, an extensive collection of Soviet art of the 20th century was created here, consisting of 600 works and enjoying a unique status in Ukraine. Furthermore, art projects of the "New Wave" - ​​a regional variant of the Transavantgard - are increasingly being exhibited in their program. The circle of artists includes: Oleksandr Hnylyzkyj , Arsen Savadow, Illja Tschytschkan , Vasilij Zagolov, Oleksandr Rojtburd , Wiktor Sydorenko , Igor Gusev , and others. a. A far-reaching result of years of work is u. a. the catalog of works "From Red to Yellow-Blue", which presents the best works of Soviet ideological art of Ukrainian post-impressionism, post-expressionism, neo-baroque, neo-primitivism, Ukrainian metaphysics and post-perestroika art of the "new wave". With the increasing opening of the Ukrainian art market for contemporary and international art, the L-art gallery in Kiev has developed an enormous potential and is now unique in the Ukrainian art scene.

Eidos

In 2005, Ljudmyla Beresnyzka, Michaela Lubov and Peter Bagry founded the "Eidos International Charity Foundation" as a non-governmental, non-profit organization with the aim of creating a basis for the representation and promotion of young Ukrainian art and giving it access to the art world enable. In 2006 the Eido Competition for International Visual Arts took place for the first time, the theme of which was the establishment of a museum for contemporary art.

Bereznitsky-Berlin

Due to the rapid development and fundamental changes in the art market and interest in art in recent years, the creation of contemporary art opens up a multitude of possibilities for new projects in cooperation with other countries and other cultures. "I am aware that time does not stand still and that fundamental changes have taken place in the art market. I am increasingly encountering a lively interest in contemporary ideas, values ​​and artistic works." […] Combining both aspects, Ljudmyla Beresnyzka opened the Bereznitsky Gallery for Eastern European Art in Berlin in 2006.
