Lo Stato Sociale (Italian for “The Welfare State ”) is an Italian electro-pop group that was founded in 2009 in Bologna.
Band history
The band was formed in 2009 from three radio DJs from the independent radio station Radio Città Fujiko , Lodo Guenzi, Alberto Guazzola and Alberto Guidetti. After first appearances, the first EP Welfare Pop was released . Then Francesco Draicchio and Enrico Roberto joined them, followed in 2011 by the second EP Amore ai tempi dell'Ikea , which was released on the Garrincha Dischi label. There the band's debut album was released in 2012 under the title Turisti della democrazia .
In 2014, Lo Stato Sociale reported back with the second album L'Italia peggiore , which hit the charts for the first time. After the book Il movimento è fermo was published by Rizzoli in 2016, the third album Amore, lavoro e altri miti da sfatare was released in 2017 . As part of the following tour, the band had the first opportunity to perform on the big stage of the Mediolanum Forum . At the end of the year the participation in the Sanremo Festival 2018 was announced; there they achieved second place with Una vita in vacanza and received the journalists' special prize.
