The Loades Peak is a prominent mountain in the East Antarctic Enderbyland . It rises at the eastern end of the Knuckey Peaks . When viewed from the southeast, it is reminiscent of a seated figure.
The mountain served a team of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions between 1974 and 1975 as a landmark for their route from Mawson Station to the Knuckey Peaks . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it in 1975 after the carpenter Donald R. Loades, who worked at Mawson Station in 1974 and had already spent the winter at Wilkes Station in 1968 .
