Loch Dearg an Sgorra , is a lake on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay . It is located in the unpopulated, hilly region in the south of the island between the mountains Beinn Uraraidh and Sgorr Bhogachain . The closest settlements are Glenegedale, about five kilometers to the west and Trudernish six kilometers to the east . The larger neighboring lake Loch Leathan at Sgorra is about 300 m to the west. The maximum length of the lake is around 320 m and 150 m wide. Loch Dearg an Sgorra is fed by two small mountain streams in the southwest. The Allt nan Dearg flows off to the east , one of the headwaters of the Kintour River , which flows into the Sound of Jura in Aros Bay .
Loch Dearg on Sgorra is not connected to the island's road network. However, there are hiking trails to this place described.
