Loch of the Lowes , also known as Loch of Lowes , is a freshwater lake in the Scottish Highlands . The lake is located in the Council Area Perth and Kinross near the small town of Dunkeld .
Loch of the Lowes is approximately 1.6 km long and 600 m wide. The water surface covers almost 1 km². The lake and the surrounding area are a nature reserve, protected by rare bird species such as B. the osprey is used as a breeding ground. The lake also serves as a resting place for migratory birds - especially greylag geese. The area around the lake is rich in fallow deer and roe deer . Loch of the Lowes is only accessible via back roads from the A923 . About two kilometers southeast of the lake is the row of stones on the East Cult Farm .
