The A923 road is an A-road in the Scottish Council Areas Dundee , Angus and Perth and Kinross .
course
The road begins as a junction from the A991 , which forms the inner city ring of Dundees. It leaves the city in a north-westerly direction where it crosses the outer ring essentially formed by the A90 ( Edinburgh - Fraserburgh ). The road touches the suburbs of Birkhill and Muirhead in Angus and then runs through sparsely populated regions of Perth and Kinross . The A923 finally reaches Coupar Angus , where it forms the main thoroughfare , partly together with the A94 ( Perth - Forfar ).
Beyond the Isla crossing , the A984 branches off to the west , which connects again with the A923 in Dunkeld . From the south the A923 eventually reaches Blairgowrie and Rattray . Partly together with the A93 (Perth - Aberdeen ), it forms the main thoroughfare there. From now on, the A923 heads west. Passing the Loch of Drumellie , Clunie , Butterstone , Lowes and Craiglush lakes , the road essentially follows the course of the Lunan Burn . It connects the hamlets of Kinloch , Forneth and Butterstone to the road network. In Dunkeld, the A923 crosses the Tay on the Dunkeld Bridge . It ends after a total distance of 49.8 km when it joins the A9 .
