The A93 road ( English for ' A93 road ') is a road in Scotland that connects Perth with Aberdeen . It is one of the major highways in the Council Areas of Perth and Kinross , Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen.

course

The A93 begins at the Broxden roundabout west of Perth, where the M90 ends when coming from the south and the A9 exits in a northbound direction. It then runs through the western districts of Perth and crosses the Tay beyond the city center. Here it also crosses the A85 , which leads west via Crianlarich to Oban . Even within Perth, the A94 leading to Forfar branches off in a north-easterly direction. After the bridge over the Isla , the Meikleour Beech Hedge runs along the road , which is considered the highest hedge in the world. About 20 km beyond Perth, the road reaches Blairgowrie and Rattray , where it crosses the Ericht . It follows its course for a few kilometers in a north-northeast direction and connects the sparsely populated northern regions of Perth and Kinross and the western areas of Aberdeenshire to the trunk road network. A few hundred meters north of Braemar , the course of the A93 swings abruptly to the east and follows the course of the Dee , which it crosses after a few kilometers and then runs along its north bank. 22 km eastwards, Ballater is the next larger town. The A97 branches off at Dinnet and leads via Huntly to Banff on the Moray Firth . Via Aboyne , Banchory and Peterculter , the road finally reaches the more densely populated regions near Aberdeen and finally the city itself, in the center of which it ends. With the exception of short sections in Perth and Aberdeen, the A93 is consistently two-lane.
