The A989 road is an A-road in Scotland . It runs with a total length of 3.1 km exclusively in the inner city area of Perth and forms the inner city ring there.

Starting in the northwest, the A989 takes on the Dunkeld Road , as which the A85 coming from Oban is led into the city center. This previously unites with the A912 , which leads through the northern districts to the A9 and runs through parts of the city center together with the A85 and A989. From the junction of the A85, the A989 runs first as Atholl Street , then as Charlotte Street in an easterly direction until the road reaches the Tay . There the A85 crosses the Tay over the listed Perth Bridge to end a few kilometers south on the A90 .

The A989, however, follows the right bank of the Tay as Tay Street . It crosses the A93 , which starts on the A9 southwest of Perth connects the southwestern districts and crosses the Tay over a second Tay bridge to then lead to Aberdeen . At a park at the southeast end of the city center, the A989 bends west and the A912, which ends in the southeastern Gateside, branches off after a short distance. As Leonard Street , St Andrews Street and Caledonian Road , the A989 runs along the west side of the city center to finally reach the junction with the A85 again. Before that, the A93 coming from the west crosses a second time.
