The Lockley Bay is a bay on the west side of Wiencke Island in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located southwest of Caleta Carrasco . Your entrance is bounded to the west by Lockley Point .
In the course of Operation Tabarin in 1945 it was named Davies Bay after Gwion (called "Taff") Davies (1917-2005), general assistant in this operation in Port Lockroy from 1943 to 1944 and in Hope Bay from 1944 to 1945. That The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2006, based on the name of the headland of the same name. It is named after Gordon Joseph Lockley (* 1916), who was also involved in Operation Tabarin from 1944 to 1945 and then worked as a biologist, meteorologist and head of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey station at Port Lockroy.
