CS Târgu Mureş was a Romanian sports club from Târgu Mureş , Mureş County . He played ten seasons in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A . The club's ice hockey department has won two Romanian championships .
history
CS Târgu Mureș was founded in 1944 by Romanian railway workers under the name ASM Târgu Mureș (in German Workers' Sports Association ) with the aim of having the best players in the city play in one team after most of the other clubs were in the turmoil of the second World War had dissolved. After the war ended, the club changed its name to Dermagant Târgu Mureș and in 1946 he qualified for Divizia A when the league was resumed.
After the name had been changed again in 1948 - the club was now called RATA Târgu Mureș after the company to which it belonged - succeeded in the 1948/49 season under coach Iuliu Baratky with a fourth place, the greatest success in the club's history. Then the club changed its name again - this time in Locomotiva Târgu Mureș . After two seasons in the relegation battle Locomotiva was able to finish the 1952 season under coach Ștefan Dobay again with fourth place.
After relegation could only just be avoided in the 1954 season , Locomotiva rose to Divizia B for the first time in 1955 . Under the new name Energia Târgu Mureş succeeded a year later, the rise, but in the following season , the descent was again certain. The club changed its name to CS Târgu Mureș in the summer of 1958 . After relegation from Divizia B in 1960, CS joined forces with local rivals Voința to form the new club CS Mureșul .
