MIMI (Book Prize)
The MIMI German Book Trade's Crime Audience Award was presented for the first time in 1990. It is named after the title of the feature film Without Crime, Mimi never goes to bed with Heinz Erhardt, Karin Dor and Harald Juhnke. First, a team of experienced booksellers compiles a 30-title long list of attractive crime novels. In 2010, the members of this jury came from the bookstores Wittwer (Stuttgart), Graff (Braunschweig), Heymann (Hamburg), Stern-Verlag (Düsseldorf), Greuter (Singen) and the crime bookstore Glatteis (Munich). Then the thriller fans (readers of the customer magazine buchSzene per post and visitors to the website www.wortundtotschlag.de) choose the winner from this longlist.
The prize was awarded at the Leipzig Book Fair until 2014 (reading stage FOCUS - excellent! ). In 2015, the prize was awarded for the first time as part of the Munich crime festival .
