Sobo Swobodnik
Sobo Swobodnik (* 1966 ) is a German writer and filmmaker .
Life
Growing up in the Swabian Alb , Sobo Swobodnik graduated from high school in Aalen , then studied acting in Munich and worked, a. a. also as a director , at several German theaters. He worked as a radio editor for various radio companies. Sobo Swobodnik is the author of numerous short stories and novels, including a. the first "Paul Plotek novel" Altötting and a novel about the resistance fighter Johann Georg Elser . He wrote several children's books under the pseudonym Sobo. As a filmmaker he makes documentaries, feature films and short films. For his portrait of Hermes Phettberg he received the Max Ophüls Prize for the best documentary film in 2012. At the Berlinale 2013 he was a member of the jury for the Peace Film Prize. In 2019 he received the Robert Geisendörfer Prize for the documentary "See you" . Sobo Swobodnik lives in Berlin and has a daughter.
