Lodranite

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lodranites form a small group within the stone-iron meteorites . They are composed of nickel - iron and silicates . Due to the silicate content, which consists mainly of olivine and pyroxene , they are chemically related to the enstatite chondrites and H chondrites . Since Lodranites lack the typical chondrules, they are mostly counted among the primitive achondrites .

Most of the Lodranites have so far been found on the bare blue ice of the Antarctic.
