Logan R. Frazee

Logan R. Frazee ( December 29, 1913 - February 9, 1996 ) was an American special effects artist.

life and work

Logan R. Frazee had worked with AD Flowers and Joe Zomar as special effects artists in film for 25 years before his name was mentioned in films. For example, he worked in the 1956 film Alarm in Space . He was mentioned from 1968 in films such as The Devil's Brigade or The Bridge of Remagen . At that time he was also acting as a special effects supervisor. He was responsible for the special effects in films such as Little Big Man , Charlie and the Chocolate Factory , Chinatown , Flammendes Inferno and French Connection II . He worked there with his sons Logan Z. Frazee and Terry D. Frazee together, including 1979 in 1941 - Who Do I to Hollywood . For this film, he and AD Flowers developed a device that can be used to control flight figures of model airplanes for filming. For this, the two received an Oscar for technical merit at the 1980 Academy Awards .

After retiring from the film business in 1979, he moved to Murrieta in 1979 with his wife Helen, who was married from 1934 until his death, and the family of his son Logan .
