The Lohmer See is located in the Sternberg lake landscape north of Lohmen in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The lake is a maximum of 1.07 kilometers long and 700 meters wide. It lies in a charming, natural landscape and is designated as a bird sanctuary. The village of Lohmen is located directly at the southern end. The water is poorly structured and lies in a hilly terminal moraine landscape. In the north, the Bollbach leaves the lake and then flows into Lake Garder to the southwest .
