history

On September 24, 1898, Messrs. Emil Jannowitz in Kremsier and Emil Török in Budapest were granted the concession “to build and operate a standard-gauge local railway from the Otrokowitz stop on the Vienna – Krakow line of the Imperial and Royal Kaiser Ferdinand's Northern Railway Wisowitz ” granted. The route was opened on October 8, 1899.

The company's share capital totaled 2,765,800 crowns . 3,729 ordinary shares were issued at 200 kroner each and 10,100 bonds at 200 kroner each. Main shareholders were the Emperor Ferdinand Northern Railway (KFNB) and the Austrian Traffic Institute , later the shoe company Bata .

The operation was carried out by the KFNB on behalf of the local railway Otrokowitz – Zlin – Wisowitz . After its nationalization in 1907, the management was transferred to the kk Austrian State Railways (kkStB). After the First World War, the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD took the place of the kkStB . From August 1, 1931, the company, now called Otrokovicko-zlínsko-vizovická dráha (OZVD), ran the business itself.

On May 21, 1937, the OZVD received the concession to continue the line to Horní Lideč . This route extension could no longer be completed because of the Second World War .

On May 1, 1948, the Otrokovicko-zlínsko-vizovická dráha was nationalized by law and the line was integrated into the ČSD network.
