Loke Mernizka (born October 14, 1939 in Dillnhütten , district of Siegen ) is a German SPD politician .

education and profession

After attending elementary school from 1946 to 1954, Loke Mernizka worked from 1954 to 1993 as a rolling mill at Stahlwerke Südwestfalen in Geisweid , later Krupp Stahl AG, Siegen-Geisweid plant. From 1979 to 1993 he was a freelance works council member and from 1985 to 1993 as an employee representative on the supervisory board of Friedrich Krupp AG Essen .

Loke Mernizka has been a member of the metal industry union since 1954 and of the SPD since 1966. From 1970 to 1975 he was Deputy Federal Chairman of the Young Socialists . From 1970 he was a long-time member of the executive committee of the SPD sub-district Siegen-Wittgenstein, from 1974 a member of the SPD district executive committee for Western Westphalia and from 1972 to 1988 a member of the state committee of the SPD North Rhine-Westphalia. He was also a member of the SPD party council as a representative of the SPD in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Mernizka was a member of the council of the city of Hüttental from 1969 to 1975. After the incorporation of the city of Hüttental into the city of Siegen , he was a member of the council of the city of Siegen from 1975 to 1997. From 1977 to 1990 he was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the city council.

Mernizka was from May 29, 1980 to June 1, 2000 directly elected member of the 9th , 10th , 11th and 12th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia for the constituency 146 Siegen III and 146 Siegen-Wittgenstein III.

From 1990 to 2000 Mernizka was one of the deputy chairmen of the SPD parliamentary group. Mernizka was a member of the Committee of the Regions in Brussels as a representative of the State Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1995 to 2000, and from 1998 as a deputy member.
