Lola Arias

Lola Arias (* 1976 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine writer , musician , actress and director .

Life

Arias is co-founder of the interdisciplinary artist collective Compañía Postnuclear , with which she developed various theater, literature, music and art projects. Her plays have been translated into English, French and German and have been shown on various European stages and festivals since 2006.

The play Mi vida después deals with the late effects of the Argentine military dictatorship . In it, six young adults around 30 explore their childhood and the life of their parents during the dictatorship.

Since 2018 she has been taking legal action against the Swedish director Ruben Östlund . In his art satire The Square , published in 2017, he had repeatedly used her name as that of the author of the work of art in the title, without consulting her.
