Lola B08 / 60
The Lola B08 / 60 is a Le Mans prototype developed by Lola and used since 2008 . It is a further development of the Lola B07 / 17 .
history
The Lola B08 / 60 debuted on the Circuit de Catalunya in April 2009 . Jan Charouz and Stefan Mücke immediately took third place in the overall ranking. At the season finale of the Le Mans Series in Silverstone , the team climbed to second place. Throughout the entire 2008 Le Mans Series season , Charouz / Mücke was the strongest pursuer of the two works teams from Audi and Peugeot and the best Le Mans prototype with a petrol engine. In the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2008 , however, the Lola only achieved ninth place.
In the course of 2008 a total of two Lola B08 / 60s were manufactured and sold to Charouz Racing System . At the end of the year, the team sold one of the two chassis to the Swiss Speedy Racing Team Sebah, which in turn fielded the car in Le Mans and the 2009 Le Mans Series. Speedy Racing had already gained experience in 2008 with the lighter but less motorized LMP2 variant Lola B08 / 80 . The second chassis remained with Charouz and was converted into a Lola-Aston Martin LMP1 by Aston Martin in 2009 for joint factory use . This vehicle took part in the Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans under a new name . In the racing car, which was further developed by Prodrive and Lola, the 6.0-liter V12 engine, which was originally designed for the Aston Martin DBR9 , was still used.
