Lomié is a municipality in the Haut-Nyong district in the Est region (Eastern Province) of Cameroon . Lomié located on the eastern edge of the nature reserve " Dja " which since 1981 Biosphere Reserve and in 1987 UNESCO - World Heritage is.
The community used to live from the timber industry. After finding cobalt and zinc in the vicinity, the mining company Geovic uses the town as a base station. In Lomié there are still a number of historical buildings from the German colonial rule . These include a prison, a courthouse and a post office.
The streets of Lomié lead in the north via Mindourou to Abong-Mbang , in the east to Messok and Yokadouma and in the south to Ngoyla. The community occasionally attracts tourists who visit the nearby nature reserve. Therefore there are also a number of small pensions and hotels.
