Lón is a lagoon in southeast Iceland .
It is located 30 kilometers northeast of Höfn . The bay extends up to 3.5 kilometers into the country at a width of 6.5 kilometers. It is located west of the Eystrahorn and behind the Fjörur spit without direct access to the open sea. The western part of the lagoon is called Lónsfjörður . Lón is also the name of the alluvial land east of the Jökulsá í Lóni .
Lón is the Icelandic word for lagoon or lagoon, as for example in Bláa Lónið ( German "Blue Lagoon").
