The Lonban Mosque ( Persian مسجد لنبان Masjed-e Lomban [ mæsd͡ʒɛd ɛ lombɑn ]) is an old mosque in Isfahan . The name goes back to the location "Lonban", a district that is one of the oldest Isfahans. Today the mosque reflects the reputation of this region. The mosque has been rebuilt more recently, but some parts of its stucco and some paintings are from the Safavid era. Some inscriptions of the mosque, including the inscription over the entrance, are works by Mohammad Reza Emamis . In addition, an extraordinary wooden minbar was placed in the mosqueduring the Safi II era, which is considered an exquisite work of art from the Safavid period.
Abutorab Esfahani, the eminent calligrapher of the Safavid era, was buried in this mosque.
