Archbishop Longin von Klin , real name Juri Wladimirowitsch Talypin (Russian Юрий Владимирович Талыпин; born February 17, 1946 in Helsinki ; † August 25, 2014 in Düsseldorf ) was the Russian Orthodox Archbishop and head of the Permanent Mission of the Russian Orthodox Church in Germany and the European Union .

Life

He spent his childhood and youth in Finland . His parents, Vladimir Talypin and Tatiana Jakowlewa, were members of the White Movement in Russia in the early 1920s . He had an older brother.

Longin became a monk on April 11, 1969 and was ordained deacon on April 13, 1969 and ordained a priest on May 18, 1969.

In 1979 he came to Germany and became provost in Düsseldorf on November 16, 1979 . On October 11, 1981 he became Bishop of Düsseldorf and since December 23, 1992 Archbishop of Klin .

He died on the morning of August 25, 2014 in Düsseldorf. August 28, 2014 After the funeral service, Archbishop Longin von Klin was buried in the new cemetery in Ippendorf.
