Lord Innermeath
Lord Innermeath is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of Scotland .
The title is named after the Lords' place of residence, Innermeath (now Invermay ) near Perth .
The title was on April 17, 1470 by King James III. created for Walter Stewart, 3rd Lord Lorne . The award was made as compensation for the title of Lord Lorne , which he renounced at the same time in favor of his niece's husband, Colin Campbell, 1st Earl of Argyll .
His great-great-great- grandson , the 6th Lord Innermeath , was also made Earl of Atholl in 1596 . With the childless death of his son, the 2nd Earl, both titles expired in 1625.
