The borders of Sierra Leone are 1,495 kilometers long, of which 1,093 kilometers are land borders .

Sierra Leone has two neighboring states:

  • Guinea with a border length of about 794 km,
  • Liberia with about 299 km.

The coastline on the Atlantic Ocean is about 402 km.

The land border largely follows natural orographic forms, including border rivers such as the Mano to Liberia or the Great Scarcies to Guinea. Only one section in the north-east of the country runs in a straight line on the 10th degree of latitude and in the south-east on 10.6 degrees west longitude .
