Lorenz Anton Dercum

Lorenz Anton Dercum (* in the 17th century in Würzburg ; † 1752 ) was a German medic and botanist .

Life

Lorenz Anton Dercum studied medicine and received his doctorate from the University of Würzburg in March 1715 with his father Damian Adolph Dercum .

Dercum later worked in Würzburg as a doctor at the Juliusspital , became professor of botany on January 5, 1721, was dean of the faculty and from 1721 to 1752 chairman of the botanical garden of the University of Würzburg.

On April 30, 1731, he received the nickname Agathinus I. a member ( 423 Matriculation no. Of) Leopoldina selected.

His successor was the doctor and botanist Elias Adam Papius .
