Elias Adam Papius

Elias Adam Papius (* 1722 in Aub ; † 1777 ) was a German medic and botanist .

Life

Elias Adam Papius studied philosophy at the universities of Würzburg and Leiden up to the master’s degree and received his doctorate in medicine in Würzburg in 1748. He later became the prince-bishop's personal physician and succeeded Lorenz Anton Dercum as professor for botany and faculty dean at the University of Würzburg.

The doctor and philosopher Melchior Adam Weikard was his student.

His successor was the doctor and botanist Gabriel Heilmann .
