Gabriel Heilmann
Gabriel Heilmann (* 1751 in Würzburg ; † January 1, 1806 there ) was a German botanist and doctor.
Life
Gabriel Heilmann studied at the University of Würzburg and received his doctorate in philosophy and medicine in 1778 .
Heilmann succeeded the doctor and botanist Elias Adam Papius, who died in 1778, and worked as a gardening director and associate professor for botany and drug theory ("Materia medica") and later around 1794 as a full professor of botany at the University of Würzburg. Heilmann became a prince-bishop's council, was a member of the academic senate and in 1800 dean of the medical faculty.
Heilmann dealt scientifically in detail with the flora of the area around Würzburg.
His successor as director of the Botanical Garden was the doctor and botanist Franz Xaver Heller .
