Lorenz Bruno Puntel

Lorenz (Lorencino) Bruno Puntel ([ punˈteːl ]; born September 22, 1935 in Sobradinho (Rio Grande do Sul) , Brazil) is a German philosopher who specializes in the pre-Kantian , especially Christian metaphysical tradition, German idealistic systems thinking and analytical Philosophy .

Puntel studied philosophy, theology, classical philology and psychology in Munich, Innsbruck, Vienna, Paris and Rome, completed his studies in philosophy in Munich in 1968 and received his doctorate in 1969 in Innsbruck in Catholic theology. In 1971 he completed his habilitation in Munich and in 1978 became professor at the Institute for Philosophy at the University of Munich . He was u. a. Student of Karl Rahner and studied with Martin Heidegger , whose philosophy he has been concerned with all his life. Since 1983 he has been on several research stays and visiting professorships in Pittsburgh, Harvard and Princeton. In 2001 he retired in Munich. In 2016 he received an honorary doctorate from the Munich School of Philosophy .
