Lorenzo Unanue , full name Lorenzo Unanue Gordano , (born March 22, 1953 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

Midfielder Unanue played from 1973 to 1980 for Club Atlético Peñarol in the Primera División . In the 1973 , 1974 , 1975 , 1978 and 1979 seasons, his club won the Uruguayan Championship. From the 1980/81 season to the 1982/83 season he was active at Atlético Potosino in Mexico . Unanue made 91 top division appearances for the club, in which he scored a total of 13 goals. He spent the 1983/94 season in the ranks of the first division club Deportivo Neza , for whom he met three times in the opposing goal in 34 missions. He then returned to Atlético Potosino and was there under contract from at least 1985 until the 1986/87 season. In the latter season he scored five goals and played 36 games in the Primera División . In 1986 he had also met four more times. In the 1987/88 season, UAG Tecos was his employer. There, the statistics show him 38 first division games and nine goals. Atlético Potosino was again run as the last career station in the 1988/89 season. He appeared 31 times this last season and scored four goals.

National team

Unanue was a member of the senior team of Uruguay , for which he completed 23 internationals between June 4, 1975 and September 20, 1979, in which he scored two goals. With the Celeste he took part in the Copa America in 1975 and 1979 . In 1975 and 1979 he won the Copa Juan Pinto Durán with Uruguay . He was also used in 1976 at the Copa del Atlántico and in qualifying for the 1978 World Cup .
