Lothar Berg (born January 23, 1951 in the Ruhr area ) is a German writer , screenwriter and songwriter who became famous for his book Window of Violence . He also works as a director and is involved in social projects.

Life

Lothar Berg was born in 1951 in the Ruhr. He graduated from school with a commercial middle school leaving certificate. He then worked in various professions and in different social milieus. In the 1980s he qualified through evening courses and IHK exams as a senate-approved haulage contractor with a waste disposal company in Berlin. At the beginning of the new millennium, he wrote Windows of Violence and thus founded an association of the same name that campaigned for violence prevention among young people. Since 2004, Berg has dedicated himself exclusively to his artistic work.

Lothar Berg lives and works in Berlin.

Create

His publications mostly deal with everyday characters, human destinies and the abysses of human existence. His short stories, novels and poetry are a constant tightrope walk between drama and comedy . The works are characterized by the honest, authentic and brutal language that leaves no doubt about the intentions of the protagonists.

Lothar Berg combines his life experience, his own experiences with fiction and dominates through authenticity, which gives his works credibility. Listeners often find a closeness to Charles Bukowski in them . The biography of the sumo world champion Alexander Czerwinski , written by Berg, received attention, as did the detective novel Cool - A completely normal working day , for which actor Ben Becker paid great tribute in the blurb. With the biography of the Russian German Alexander D. Berg sets a new aspect in the consideration of migration and integration.

At the beginning of his creative work he worked with celebrities from the film and theater scene, for whom he staged the readings (Kriminal Theater, Urania , Atomschutzbunker Berlin, La Luz), until he finally performed himself: sometimes with solo musicians, sometimes with a rock band and GoGo Girls or with martial artists.

"Steve Seitz sings street songs by Lothar Berg" was produced by Christoph Rinnert , for the film 70 Degrees - When the Blood Boils , the author wrote and directed the script. In 2015, Bastei Lübbe Verlag signed Berg for a thriller that was published in 2016 in the “Hochspannung” e-book series. Further publications followed. Berg is also the operator of a LIVE STREAM on Facebook (Fridays at 7 p.m.), in which he would like to promote interest in literature and language with small readings.
