Alexander Czerwinski

Alexander Czerwinski (born April 10, 1969 in Rostock ) is a German actor and former judoka , sumo world champion and defense player of the Rostock Griffins American football team .

Life

At the age of 12, Czerwinski came to the Judo training center of the HSG Uni Rostock and was discovered by the talent scouting of the children's and youth sports school of the ASK Vorwärts Frankfurt (Oder) . He fought for the ASK Frankfurt (Oder) from 1982. He reached u. a. Second and third place in the 11th country tournament in Jicin, Czechoslovakia in 1984/85, won the GDR Spartakiade in Berlin in 1985 and won silver a year later at the international youth and junior tournament in Meißen, with athletes from all over the world Eastern Bloc was top-class. In the same year he left the ASK Frankfurt (Oder).

In 1998 he started training as a sumo wrestler. A year later he was runner-up in the heavyweight and open category at the German championship in Riesa, in 2000 runner-up European champion with the team in Krakow and world champion with the team in Sao Paulo. He was active as a sumotori until 2004 and won his last medal in 2004 at the World Championships in Riesa when he won bronze with the team.

In 2005 he started again with judo training and started right away with a 2nd place at the Judo Masters European Championship in London. A year later the 2nd place followed at the Judo World Masters Tours in France. In 2007 a silver medal in the heavyweight division at the Austrian Open in Graz, a silver medal in the heavyweight division at the European Games in Kiev, and a silver medal in the heavyweight division at the Italian Open in Milan. Czerwinski ended 2007 with 5th place in the heavyweight division at the World Championships in Chiang Mai / Thailand.

Until 2013 he played for the Rostock Griffins American football team. He played on the defensive team and was known as a nose tackle for his tough but fair attacks against the opposing quarterbacks. On the occasion of the Superbowl 2013 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Rostock Griffins.

On March 1, 2014, his life story was published under the title "Socialism - Skinhead - Sumo".

Alexander Czerwinski has also been an actor for several years.
