The Postal Moosbürg is an Outbound medieval motte (moth) on the southern edge of the village Moosbürg , a modern suburb of Weiden in Bavaria .
description
From the former Mottenanlage in the river valley of the Waldnaab only a strongly flattened, roughly rectangular tower hill has survived today. Its height is still 0.5 meters, the area measures 27 by 20 meters. Around the tower hill there was a ten-meter-wide trench, most of which was filled. In the past, a second ditch is said to have drawn around the hill, separated from the inner one by an intermediate wall. The jump height at that time (height difference from the bottom of the trench to the hilltop) is said to have been 1.6 meters.
Today the Burgstall, the area of which is used for agriculture, is registered as a ground monument D-3-6338-0010 "Medieval Burgstall" by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation .
