Lothar Bodingbauer

Lothar Bodingbauer (* 1971 in Altheim , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian radio journalist, evening school teacher and freelance podcaster.

Life

Lothar Bodingbauer attended high school in Braunau am Inn and after a year of work as a bank clerk at the University of Vienna studied physics and mathematics for teaching. He completed his studies with a diploma thesis entitled Physics in Radio - With the analysis of a radio broadcast on the subject of "Quantum-physical entanglement" . He did his community service as a memorial servant at the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Center in 2000. During his studies he worked as a freelance radio journalist, primarily for the radio stations Austria 1 and Deutschlandfunk . He currently teaches physics and mathematics as his main job at the evening grammar school in Vienna and holds courses at the Forum Journalism and Media in Vienna. As a freelance podcaster, he is mainly active in the field of knowledge transfer and advocates the connection of podcast episodes with radio broadcasts.

Publications

Lothar Bodingbauer has published around 300 radio programs and radio programs (reports, features, collages, glosses) and 500 podcast episodes (conversation formats) since he began his journalistic activity in 1994. He shared experience reports from his journalistic work, which he combines with thematic aspects from the field of education, at the subscribe podcaster conferences and at conferences of the German-speaking science podcasters. He published a textbook for chemistry as well as a book on "physical characteristics". He runs a website on the Internet as an explanatory platform with physical and scientific content, in which the results of school projects are also coordinated. He revises exhibition texts according to scientific, educational and journalistic criteria for Austrian museums.

  • 2000 Dr. Reinhard Galler Tourism Prize: Honorable recognition for the radio feature "Living in the Alps" (Journal Panorama, ORF Austria 1, August 5, 1999).
  • 2012 WINFRA Prize for Infrastructure Journalism: Winner in the radio category for the radio feature "The durability of the city" ( Moment - Leben heute , ORF Austria 1, January 6, 2012).
  • 2015 Innovation Prize of the Austrian University Conference and ORF Radio Austria 1: Bee podcast as an example of innovative knowledge transfer.
  • 2016 Roman Sexl Prize for Didactics of Physics: Lothar Bodingbauer for his media activities on radio with programs such as “Physikalische Soiree”, Vom Leben der Natur and Radio Kolleg .
