Lothar Franke

Lothar Franke is a German table tennis player who took part in the 1962 European Championship .

Lothar Franke played for the TTC Grün-Weiß Berlin club , of which he is still an honorary member today (2012). With his men's team he was in 1955/56 and 1957/58 champions of the Oberliga Nord , the top German division at the time. In 1956 the team came second in the German team championship.

In 1962 he was nominated for the individual competitions of the European Championship in West Berlin. Here he was eliminated in all competitions in the first round: In singles against Robert Stevens (England), in doubles with Everson from Wales against Karl Wegrath / Hans Jell (Austria) and also in mixed with Anita Haacke against Lajos Antal / Monique Jaquet ( Switzerland).

He later played tennis for Grün-Weiß Berlin.
