Erich Putz

Erich Putz (born July 2, 1943 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ), teacher and Viennese state secretary of the Austrian workers' union . From 1983 to 1987 and from 1995 to 1996 he was a member of the Vienna City Council and a member of the Vienna State Parliament and from 1988 to 1995 a member of the Austrian Federal Council .

education and profession

After primary school, Putz attended a grammar school and then graduated from the federal teacher training institute. He passed the Matura in 1963 and received the teaching qualification test for elementary schools in 1967. Professionally, Putz worked as a primary school teacher from 1964 to 1971 and from 1971 worked as a teacher at the Pedagogical Academy of the Archdiocese of Vienna. He was also the class-leading practice teacher from 1971 to 1976, and administrator between 1976 and 1988. He also worked as a group supervisor in elementary school teacher training and held seminars for speech training and blackboard writing. From 1978 to 1985 he worked as the head of the semi-boarding school of the training schools of the Pedagogical Academy and from 1990 onwards he was the state secretary of the Austrian workers' union.

Politics and functions

In 1968, Putz joined the ÖVP or Austrian workers' union. He began his political career in the 21st Viennese district of Floridsdorf , where he acted as deputy district party chairman of the ÖVP Vienna-Floridsdorf from 1981 to 1988 and was also district chairman of the ÖAAB Vienna-Floridsdorf from 1983 to 1988. He ran for the Austrian People's Party in the constituency of Floridsdorf in the regional and municipal council elections in 1983 and was sworn in on April 24, 1983 as a member of the Vienna City Council and a member of the Vienna Landtag. He was a member of the local council or state parliament until 1987 and was elected to the Federal Council on November 8, 1988. Putz was a member of the Federal Council until June 26, 1995 and moved back to the state parliament and local council in 1995. He was sworn in as a member of the state parliament and councilor on June 26, 1995 and was a member of the state parliament until November 29, 1996.
