Lothar Höhne (born October 21, 1952 ) is a former German soccer player. In the GDR league , the top division in GDR football , he was active in the 1970s and 1980s for the BSG Chemie Leipzig and Chemie Böhlen .

Athletic career

In 1971 Lothar Höhne rose with the company sports community (BSG) Lok Ost Leipzig from the district league to the second-rate GDR league . Of the 20 league games played by BSG Lok Ost in the 1971/72 season, the 19-year-old played five games. Lok Ost failed to stay up, and Höhne played two more seasons in the district league. In 1974 the people of Leipzig rose again to the GDR league. Höhne was meanwhile a regular in the team and this time was used in 21 of the 22 point games. After the Lok-Ost team had ended the 1974/75 season as a relegated team, Höhne moved to the league promoted chemistry Leipzig. There, too, his career was repeated, in his first league season 1975/76 he was able to regain a regular place as a defender, but his team was relegated again. In the following three seasons, Chemie Leipzig was each season winner in the GDR league, but only managed to return to the league in 1979. Of the 66 GDR league games played in these three seasons, Höhne was used 54 times and also played all 24 games in the promotion rounds. 1979/80 Höhne completed his second league season, in which he was again placed as a defender in 20 point games.

After height also ended his second league season as a relegated team, he moved to BSG Chemie Böhlen, which had been promoted to the league, in the 1980/81 season. In Böhlen he got caught in an interplay between the Oberliga and the GDR league. After a year of the league, in which he had completed 22 games as a defender, it went on in 1981/82 in the GDR league. There, Höhne initially only played 16 of the 22 point games. As the season winner, Böhlen played eight games in the promotion round, where Höhne was used in seven encounters. The team managed to rise again, so that height went into its fourth league season in 1982/83. With a few interruptions, he came to 18 other league missions, only to be relegated again. At the age of almost 31, Lothar Höhne completed his last season in GDR-wide football in 1983/84. He played another 20 of 22 GDR league games and then withdrew from competitive sports. Within 14 years he had played 79 league games (without a goal) and 116 GDR league games (eight goals). He took part in four rounds of promotion in which he was used 31 times and scored one goal.
