Lothar Hopf is a former German Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Hopf, who started for SC Motor Zella-Mehlis , made his international debut at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 1980 in Örnsköldsvik , where he won the bronze medal in the individual competition. On December 17, 1983, he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup . In Seefeld in Tirol he landed 13th straight away in the points. Since he was 27th without points at the following World Cup in Oberwiesenthal , it was his only two World Cup appearances of the season that he finished in 32nd place overall. Also in the following season 1984/85 he reached after only one use in Oberwiesenthal, in which he landed in ninth place, the 32nd place in the overall standings.

At the GDR ski championships in Oberhof in 1988 , he won the bronze medal in the team competition together with Michael Pfötsch and Jörg Beetz .
