Lothar Koch (politician, 1939)
Lothar Koch (* 27. September 1939 in Hilkerode ) is a German local politician of the CDU and was from 1994 to 2017 a member of the parliament of Lower Saxony .
Life
After graduating from high school in Duderstadt in 1961 , he studied German and political science from 1969 to 1972 at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and the Free University of Berlin . Until 1994 he was head of the school inspectorate in Göttingen.
Since 1973 he has been the local mayor of Langenhagen (Eichsfeld) and Brochthausen and councilor of the city of Duderstadt. In 1976 he then joined the CDU. From 1994 to 2017 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament. There he was temporarily chairman of the committee, member of the council of elders and the presidium. From 2008 onwards he was the age president of the state parliament; He opened the constituent meetings of the 16th electoral term in 2008 and the 17th electoral term in 2013.
He is married and has three children.
