Lothar Leiendecker (born September 22, 1953 in Trier ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The talent of the 1.83 m tall striker from the third team of Eintracht Trier was discovered late. From 1977 to 1983 he played a total of 165 games in the 2nd Bundesliga for Eintracht Trier and SpVgg Fürth and scored 69 goals. With the league club Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin , the striker also made it to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1983/84 , but moved back to the amateur camp at 1. FC Bocholt in the Oberliga Nordrhein. After a successful season , Leiendecker moved back to his hometown Trier, where he scored 17 goals in 40 league games between 1985 and 1987. With the Eintracht he celebrated again in 1987 the championship of the Oberliga Südwest , but they failed in the promotion round to the 2nd division at the Offenbacher Kickers and the SpVgg Bayreuth. At city rivals VfL Trier , the attacker ended his active career. In 1992 he won the national league championship with VfL, which meant promotion to the association league.

Leiendecker scored five goals in one game three times in his career in higher-class football, for Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin and 1. FC Bocholt. But his 75 goals in a single season for the reserve of Eintracht Trier remain unmatched, which made him recommended for the professional team.

Lothar Leiendecker is the younger brother of the Trier cult singer "Helm" Leiendecker .
