Lothar Lutze

Lothar Lutze (born September 7, 1927 in Breslau ; † March 4, 2015 in Berlin ) was a German Indologist .

Life

After receiving his doctorate from the Free University of Berlin on April 13, 1956, he taught as a professor at the South Asia Institute at the University of Heidelberg from 1965 to 1992. In 2006, the Indian government again honored him for the fourth highest civil award from Padma Shri for his contributions to Indian literature .
