Lothar Papula

Lothar Papula (* 1941 in Bad Oeynhausen ) is a German mathematician, university professor and author of numerous mathematical textbooks.

Life

Papula studied mathematics and physics in Frankfurt am Main . Since 1977 he has been a lecturer at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences . In 1979 he was appointed professor of mathematics at the Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences .

Papula achieved particular fame as the author of mathematical textbooks for engineers. 2004 was the papules from Mathematikum awarded in casting Mathematikum price . Its six volumes in the series Mathematics for Engineers and Natural Scientists reached a circulation of one million in April 2008.

In 2008 he retired.
